Lori McIntosh moved to Auburn, California in early 2017 from the San Francisco Bay Area where she lived since 2001. She and her husband, Nigel, had plans to retire many years later in the Sierra Foothills but decided to come 20 years early, being horse owners and wanting more affordable land so they could all live together.
Places lived and education: Virginia Beach, VA is where she grew up until she was 15 and then came back several times in her 20s. Roanoke, VA for Occupational Therapy school, Outer Banks, NC for summer vacations with her family, Dallas, TX for high school, Austin, TX for University of Texas studied History and English, Orangeburg, New York to study more Occupational Therapy (20 miles from Manhattan) Melbourne, Florida, Fairfield, New Haven, and Stamford, CT, Boston, MA, Oakland and Sausalito, CA for Occupational Therapy training and work always knowing she would eventually settle in Northern California, Marin County, San Francisco, San Jose, Morgan Hill and finally Auburn, California to be near Lake Tahoe and be in the endurance capital of the world for equestrians.
Careers: Photography studio for her father doing lab work starting at age 12, Horse camp teaching kids riding lessons, hostess, waitress, bartender in many many restaurants throughout school, and a Science Museum in Virginia.
Occupational Therapy for 10 years as a traveling therapist focusing on Spinal Cord Injuries, Head Injuries and custom made splints where she could use her creativity while in the medical field.
Pharmaceutical Sales for 14+ years all over Northern California from San Luis Obispo to Lake Tahoe specializing in Neurology, Psychiatry, Gastroenterology, and Respiratory disease states.

Permaculture Consultant and working on becoming a Master Gardener in Placer County as she has started an organic farm of fruit and nut trees on her 5 acre property with a flock of chickens and ducks who are guarded by two Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs along with two Arabians, a mini horse, and a donkey.
Real Estate: Lori is now in her final career as a Real Estate Agent with United Country California Properties in Placer and Nevada County focusing on country properties. She has finally found paradise after years of searching throughout the United States. Her networking, negotiating skills, sales experience, easy-going attitude with a strong work ethic have brought her much success in every career. Real Estate is a perfect fit and she is not sure why she didn’t get into it sooner. Wherever she lives, she finds out where all the action is and quickly becomes a tour guide for any visitor who wants to explore. She goes out of her way to make sure each and every client is 100% satisfied. She works in Auburn mostly but also has many other areas that she knows well within the Greater Sacramento area including Newcastle, Loomis, Lincoln, Roseville, Rocklin, Penryn, Granite Bay, Foresthill, Colfax, Grass Valley, Nevada City, Lake of the Pines, Penn Valley, Alta Sierra, Tahoe and everything in between.
